Somehow this strong blitz event has gone unnoticed. Six players were qualified from the tournaments in Oslo, Porsgrunn, Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim and Tromsø: Andreas Esbensen, FM Dag Madsen, IM Bjørn Tiller, IM Espen Lie, IM Erik Fossan and FM Kjetil Stokke. In the final tournament that took place on 27th October they were joined with invited Alexander Grischuk, Magnus Carlsen, Peter Heine Nielsen, Simen Agdestein, Hannes Stefansson, Tomi Nybäck, Kjetil A. Lie, Pia Cramling, Leif Erlend Johannessen and Jon Ludvig Hammer.

Alexander Grischuk won the final match against Magnus Carlsen.
